We live in beautiful Washburn on the south shore of Lake Superior in the Northwoods region of Wisconsin. Our neighboring city is Ashland across Chequamegon (Shewarmegon) Bay. Our closest major city is Duluth/Superior, about 65 miles west of us on Lake Superior (see Area Map). The city of Superior is in Wisconsin and across the harbor is Duluth, in Minnesota. This is also where our nearest airport is. We are about 4 ½ hours by road from Minneapolis/St Paul (also known as the Twin Cities or just The Cities) and about 6 ½ hours from Madison (the capital of Wisconsin) and Milwaukee (on Lake Michigan), the home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team and Miller Beer! (now owned by SA Breweries). We are 5 hours by road from Green Bay, home of the Green Bay Packers football team., and  8 hours from Chicago.
