When we arrived in Wisconsin in August 2003, Emma left a large client base back in Seattle. She had to start all over in Washburn and had real problems finding a place to work. In November 2003, she was given a chance by Therene, who is now a dear friend, and in July 2004 Emma moved into Hair by Emma in the building we live in. Coincidentally, Therene closed her salon across the street. Before Emma could move in we had to strip the space, install insulation, drywall, paint, install floor tiles etc etc. Once again Roy was the star.

On July 7, 2004 Hair by Emma was opened although she had to wait until October before I had the sign completed! Today it is a busy one chair salon with (already) a large, loyal customer base. Once again Emma has made a name for herself as the best hairstylist around!
